Getting started

Orbiz runs in the browser, with nothing to install. This path takes you from the account to your first edited map.

Go to app.orbiz.studio and choose Começar agora (Get started). The Free plan gives you 500 MB of space and 1 project. The limits of each plan are in Plans and limits.

A project holds the map, the respawns, the houses, the server’s appearances.dat and the client assets. There are two ways to start:

  • From your server: point to the server folder and the client folder. The editor reads config.lua, items.xml, the world/*.otbm files and the monster and NPC XMLs, and you choose which maps are included. Details in Projects and layers.
  • Sample project: lets you try the editor before uploading your own map.

Chrome and Edge remember the access to the folders. In Safari and Firefox the browser asks for the folder again every session.

  • Paste a coordinate (x, y, z, {x = …, y = …, z = …} or Position(x, y, z)) with Ctrl+V and the map jumps to it.
  • Use Ctrl+K for quick search or Ctrl+G to go to a position.
  • In the left panel, the tree lists towns, houses, respawns, waypoints and zones, with a search field.
  1. Press B for the Brush and pick an item in the palette.
  2. Click or drag on the map.
  3. Made a mistake? Ctrl+Z undoes it. Each brush stroke or drag is one step.

When you are done, the Publish button generates the server files (OTBM and XMLs) in a zip. See Publishing the map.
