Brush and palette

You choose what to paint in the palette, in the left panel, and paint with the Brush (B), the Eraser (E) or Fill (G).

The palette has one tab per category:

Tab What it has
Terrain Ground, wall, carpet and table brushes, defined by the project’s materials
Doodad Decoration, with variations
Item Loose items, grouped by tileset
Collection Collections from the materials. The tab is hidden when the project has none
House Houses to paint. See Houses and towns
Creature Monsters and NPCs. See Respawns
Waypoint Creates and moves waypoints. See Waypoints
Zones Tile zones (PZ, No PvP, No logout, PvP zone) and custom zones. See Zones
RAW Any item by id, with no brush rules
Saved Terrains Areas you saved to stamp again

The Nome ou id (name or id) field filters the open tab.

  1. Press B and click an item in the palette.
  2. Click or drag on the map.

Each brush stroke or drag is one undo step.

When you select a painting tool, the brush options panel opens above the toolbar:

  • Size: from 1 to 12.
  • Shape: Square or Circle.
  • Variation: on doodads with more than one variation, picks which one to paint.
  • Automatic borders: turns on the ground’s automatic borders. On wall brushes the option is called Connect walls.
  • Edit borders…: opens the Border Workspace for the chosen ground.
  • Respawn time (seconds): shows up with a creature brush.
  • Ground, wall, carpet and table follow the rules in the materials: the wall connects to its neighbors, and the carpet and table pick the right piece for each side and corner. Painting or erasing carpets and tables also redoes 1 tile around, in a single step.
  • Doodad respects tile blocking. Hold Alt or Shift to ignore it.
  • Door: with a door type chosen, click a wall to place or swap the door. With Alt it opens.
  • Creature: inside a respawn’s area, the creature joins that respawn. Outside any respawn, the click creates a respawn of radius 1.
  • RAW places the item by id, connecting nothing.

With Shift held, drag to paint a whole area at once. The outline is blue; with Alt it turns red and the area is erased (or, on the zone and house brushes, the mark is removed). It works for the eraser and for the ground, RAW, wall, carpet, table, zone and house brushes. Doodad and door are left out.

The Eraser deletes the items in the brush area and keeps the ground. Two options:

  • Also erase the ground: deletes the ground as well.
  • Keep unique items and borders: spares items with attributes and, if the ground is not erased, the borders.

Fill uses a Terrain brush and fills the region.

On the Saved Terrains tab, mark an area with Area selection, give it a name and click Save. Later, choose the terrain and click the map to stamp it.
