Select and move

With the Select object tool (V), click a tile to pick its topmost object. The order of choice is: the respawn icon (on the center tile), then the creature, then the items from top to bottom, and last the ground, only if the tile has nothing else.

  • Going down the stack: Alt+click picks the object underneath.
  • Outline: when you hover, the object the click would pick gets an outline.
  • Move: drag. The item goes on top of the destination, respecting the stacking order. The drag ghost turns red when the destination does not accept it.
  • Force: hold Shift on release to place on a blocked tile (useful for wall items).
  • Remove: Delete or Backspace.
  • Reorder the stack: Ctrl+↑ and Ctrl+↓, or drag the rows in the inspector. The ground always stays at the bottom.
  • Rotate and open: Shift+R rotates the item and Shift+D opens or closes the door.
  • Item: goes on top of the destination.
  • Creature of a respawn: if it leaves the area, the respawn radius grows by itself.
  • Respawn: drag it by the icon. The center changes; the creatures stay where they are and the radius only grows if one ends up outside it. See Respawns.
  • Ground: cannot be dragged.

With an object selected, Ctrl+C copies it and Ctrl+V enters paste mode. A click chooses the destination and Esc cancels. See Copy and paste.
